*Press Release*
Montrouge, France, May 8, 2017

** DBV Technologies Highlights Research Presentation of EPIT ^® for the Treatment of Crohn's Disease at Digestive Disease Week 2017 **

DBV Technologies (Euronext: DBV - ISIN: FR0010417345 - Nasdaq Stock Market: DBVT) today announced the presentation of a preclinical poster highlighting the therapeutic potential of epicutaneous immunotherapy (EPIT) in inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) in Chicago, Illinois, May 6-9, 2017.

The poster (Su1838), entitled "Tolerance with Viaskin requires TGF-b and can be utilized as a Treatment of Intestinal Inflammation in Murine Models, " was accepted as a Poster of Distinction and presented by Dr. David Dunkin, Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology and The Mindich Child Health and Development Institute, The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY, on Sunday, May 7, from 12-2 pm CT.

In this preclinical study, epicutaneous treatment with a 100 µg dose of Viaskin-Ovalbumin was associated with the induction of ovalbumin-specific regulatory T cells (Tregs) migrating to the gut and abrogating colitis and ileitis in mice via bystander suppression. EPIT was observed to increase Foxp3, LAP+ Tregs and TGF-b secretion in animal models, supporting the potential clinical application of EPIT in the treatment of Crohn's disease.

In February 2014, DBV Technologies and The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai entered into a research collaboration to investigate the use of the Viaskin technology for the treatment of Crohn's disease. In December 2015, additional preclinical data supporting Viaskin's application in Crohn's was presented at the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America Advances in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (AIBD) meeting in Orlando, Florida.

*About Crohn's disease*
Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract, mainly characterized by abdominal pain, diarrhea and various digestive and non-digestive complications. There are no medications or surgical procedures that can cure Crohn's disease. One in five people with Crohn's are admitted to a hospital each year, and as many as half of those suffering from the disease will require surgery over a ten-year period. The incidence of Crohn's is increasing, especially in young children and infants. Both men and women can be affected by Crohn's disease, which is usually diagnosed between the ages of 15 - 30.

*About DBV Technologies *
DBV Technologies is developing Viaskin®, a proprietary technology platform with broad potential applications in immunotherapy. Viaskin is based on epicutaneous immunotherapy, or EPIT®, DBV's method of delivering biologically active compounds to the immune system through intact skin. With this new class of self-administered and non-invasive product candidates, the company is dedicated to safely transforming the care of food allergic patients, for whom there are no approved treatments. DBV's food allergies programs include ongoing clinical trials of Viaskin Peanut and Viaskin Milk, and preclinical development of Viaskin Egg. DBV is also pursuing a human proof-of-concept clinical study of Viaskin Milk for the treatment of Eosinophilic Esophagitis, and exploring potential applications of its platform in vaccines and other immune diseases.
DBV Technologies has global headquarters in Montrouge, France and New York, NY. Company shares are traded on segment A of Euronext Paris (Ticker: DBV, ISIN code: FR0010417345), part of the SBF120 index, and traded on the Nasdaq Global Select Market in the form of American Depositary Shares (each representing one-half of one ordinary share) (Ticker: DBVT). 'France said no to tyranny of fake news': How world leaders reacted to Emmanuel Macron's victory

Pro-EU centrist Emmanuel Macron has stormed to victory in the French presidential election, roundly defeating his far-right rival Marine Le Pen in a run- off vote. The 39-year old former investment banker, who has never held elected office, became the youngest President and occupant of the Elysee Palace.

Macron will also becomes the first President from outside the two traditional main parties since the modern republic's foundation in 1958.

At a victory party outside the Louvre Museum in Paris on Sunday, Macron said the country has sent an incredible message to itself, to Europe and the world, adding that he would "guarantee the unity of the nation and defend and protect Europe." Marine Le Pen, his far-right opponent in the Presidential runoff, quickly called Macron to concede her defeat after voters rejected her "French-first" nationalism by a large margin.

The French Interior Ministry said with 93% of the votes counted, Macron had about 19.3 million votes, while Ms Le Pen secured about 10.4 million.

Here is a selection of comments from world leaders and other political heavyweights on Macron's election victory on Sunday.

"Congratulations, @EmmanuelMacron. Your victory is a victory for a strong and united Europe and for French-German friendship," said Chancellor Angela Merkel's spokesman.

"The Prime Minister warmly congratulates President-elect Macron on his election success. France is one of our closest allies and we look forward to working with the new President on a wide range of shared priorities," said a Downing Street spokesman. Prime Minister Theresa May also discussed Brexit with Macron, saying "the UK wants a strong partnership with a secure and prosperous EU once we leave," the spokesman added.

"Happy that the French chose a European future," European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker wrote on Twitter.

— Jean-Claude Juncker (@JunckerEU) May 7, 2017

EU Council President Donald Tusk also offered his congratulations, saying the French had chosen "liberty, equality and fraternity" and "said no to the tyranny of fake news".

European Parliament President Antonio Tajani told AFP: "We have received a vote of confidence from France in the European Union."

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said "the victory of President-elect Macron is a symbolic victory against inward- looking and protectionist moves and shows a vote of confidence in the EU".

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he wanted to work together with Macron on a "progressive agenda" to "promote international security, increase collaboration in science and technology, and create good, middle-class jobs on both sides of the Atlantic".

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said he had congratulated Macron and had received a text back saying he was "looking forward to working together". Highlighting the cooperation between French and Australian soldiers during World War I, he added: "We have been side-by-side in freedom's cause for over a century, and we are side-by-side in freedom's cause in the Middle East today. So we have great work to do to make the ties between France and Australia stronger still."

Prime Minister Alexis Tspiras said Macron's victory was "an inspiration for France and for Europe", adding he was "sure we will work closely together."

"Congratulations to @EmmanuelMacron, new president of #France. Let us work in France and Spain for a stable, prosperous and more integrated Europe," Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy said in a tweet.

"I am delighted that a leader with a positive ambition for Europe has won this election," said Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny.

"There's lots of work ahead for all of us in Europe, in a challenging environment, not least on Brexit." New Zealand Prime Minister Bill English welcomed Macron's victory as "good for political stability", adding "it's a result I think a lot of people will see as making a clear path for France".

"This is a victory for the French people and for European cooperation. New opportunities will now open up for the proactive agenda needed to strengthen the EU, including more jobs and fair working conditions, a stronger climate policy and a functioning asylum system in which everyone takes responsibility," said Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Lofven.

"I congratulate @EmmanuelMacron on his victory in the French presidential election. Brazil and France will continue to work together for democracy, human rights, development, integration and peace," tweeted President Michel Temer.

Will the Football League usher in a streaming revolution?

$
0
0
Will the Football League usher in a streaming revolution? We can now watch Hollywood films without ever having to buy a DVD or go to a cinema, listen to music without owning a single CD, and keep up to date with the news without ever stepping into a newsagent.

The advent of smartphones and streaming services such as Netflix and Spotify have revolutionised consumer habits and forced reeling entertainment industries to grapple with the consequence.

By contrast, football has remained relatively immune from such drastic disruption.

Clubs still sell their product and fans still pursue their passion in the same way they did two decades ago: get a ticket to the match; find a pub with it on; buy a pay TV subscription package and consult the TV guide to see if your team is on; or hope to find a shaky, unreliable — and illegal — stream.

From next season, however, fans of English Football League (EFL) clubs will be offered a new platform on which to follow their team.

*Read more:* Is the Football League due a TV rights revolution? Why Derby County are leading the cross-divisional rebellion

Last week the EFL announced it was making it possible for fans to watch every single game not selected by a broadcaster — in other words, the vast majority — live on an online streaming platform called iFollow.

For £110 a season, fans can buy full access to their team’s package and watch every game live.

The only catches are that, due to regulatory and rights issues in the UK, iFollow is currently only available to overseas fans, while 11 of the 72 clubs have not signed up to the platform – including some of the bigger names such as Aston Villa, Queens Park Rangers, Leeds United and Derby County — in order to use their own pre-existing digital structure.

For Football League clubs with fans used to mournfully following their fortunes via forums or stolen Sky Sports News clips uploaded to social media, it still represents a significant liberating of content both for fans to consume and for clubs to drive revenue from.

“There was a general view going back two to three years ago from the leagues and our clubs that we weren’t fully exploiting — either commercially or from a growth perspective — the international opportunity,” EFL marketing director Drew Barrand told City A.M.

“It was clear that we were leaving quite a lot of collateral on the table in terms of the deals that we were doing with our overseas broadcasters. They were taking a package of games that was essentially the same package as you’ll see domestically over here. It left essentially 1,500 games as ‘dark’ and a missed opportunity.

“There is clearly a changing relationship between consumer and content and we needed to respond to that. We’re very mindful of that. It’s not just a sport thing — it’s across all content — and we need to move with the times and give fans what they want.”

*Read more:* These nine companies are changing football through technology and innovation

Such a recognition has also been made by stakeholders in American sports who have set up direct-to-consumer streaming services.

US-based basketball fans can watch any game live through the NBA's League Pass product, providing it is not being shown by a local broadcaster, while NHL Center Ice offers a similar service to ice hockey fans.

Yet UK fans hoping for the EFL’s new platform to trigger an overnight revolution in football viewing that would see them able to access something similar may still have a while to wait.

Regulator Ofcom currently restricts any broadcast of any football game being held between 2:45pm and 5:15pm, ruling out nearly all of the games on iFollow.

The Premier League, meanwhile, will be in no rush to dispense with an international broadcast rights model that is increasingly lucrative.

Foreign broadcasters paid a collective £3.2bn for the current cycle of rights, which run until 2019 – a 50 per cent rise from the previous cycle’s £2.2bn.

“Sports is still a driver for Sky and other TV packages,” Daniel Gadher, senior analyst at TV and content research firm Ampere Analysis, told City A.M.

“It’s [over-the-top streaming services] a compliment at the moment. Beyond sport, we’re finding people in the UK and in Europe are taking up multiple services. We’ve seen more cord-cutting in the US but here people are taking on paid-TV packages and adding an over-the-top service for a particular need.

“The international rights are only going up for the Premier League; they’re still a valuable proposition for the league and the clubs. We’re seeing football become more and more popular in the Far East. That’s what they’re going to be focused on.”

For now then, the iFollow platform may just be football dipping its toe in the streaming water. Reported by City A.M. 1 hour ago.

Meet the four men in charge of the EU’s Brexit negotiations

$
0
0
Meet the four men in charge of the EU’s Brexit negotiations Brexit negotiations are often characterised as being between the UK and the EU. This is technically accurate, but the EU itself is comprised of several different institutions - each of which will have a different voice during the Brexit talks. In addition, EU member states will have their own interests represented via the European Council.

In other words, Juncker’s briefings may have mae the headlines but he’s not the most important person at the table. Veteran Eurocrat Michel Barnier will lead efforts on behalf of the Commission while the EU Parliament has put colourful MEP Guy Verhofstadt in charge of their interests. So, bring yourself up to speed with this cast of EU officials.

*NAME: DONALD TUSK*

*Job:* President of the European Council

*Nationality:* Polish

*CV:* Former Prime Minister of Poland

*Nickname: *“Our Donald” (as opposed to the other Donald)

*Key quote:* “There is no reason to pretend that this is a happy day” - on receiving the Article 50 letter from the UK

*How important is he?* Vincenzo Scarpetta, senior policy analyst for think tank Open Europe, ranks Tusk as the most important EU figure in Brexit negotiations. “He is the one who is in charge of mustering the European Council consensus,” he says. “The European Council, the heads of state in government, will be the body, the institution that will give the political impetus, the political direction, to these negotiations.”

*How to impress? *Leaked details from dinner parties, alleged by Juncker’s team, and stinging attacks in response from Theresa May will probably not please Tusk. After last week’s row, Tusk tweeted: “#Brexit talks difficult enough. If emotions get out of hand, they'll become impossible.”

*Read more*: May vows to be "bloody difficult" in talks with Juncker

*NAME: JEAN-CLAUDE JUNCKER*

*Job:* President of the European Commission

*Nationality:* Luxembourgian

*CV:* Prime Minister of Luxembourg

*Nickname:* “Mr Euro”

*Key quote:* “I’m leaving Downing Street 10 times more sceptical than I was before” - Juncker’s last words to May after last month’s Downing Street dinner, according to leaks

*How important is he? *Juncker ranks third in Scarpetta’s list. He is not directly involved in the negotiations, with Barnier appointed to handle Brexit for the commission. “What Juncker says is going to be interesting as a bellwether to interpret the mood music within the commission,” Scarpetta says.

“But in terms of direct involvement in negotiations, Juncker – at least on paper – doesn’t really have a role.”

*How to impress? *Last month’s Downing Street dinner suggests Juncker will be a tricky adversary. The Luxemburger also has a rough history with May’s predecessor, David Cameron, who failed in a bid to block Juncker’s appointment as commission president.

Juncker’s chief-of-staff Martin Selmayr, who has earned the nickname “monster” and who was a big thorn in the Greek’s side during their bailout negotiations, also warned last week that “Brexit will never become a success”.

*Read more*: The wealth of Britain's billionaires has boomed despite Brexit

*NAME: GUY VERHOFSTADT*

*Job:* Chief Brexit negotiator for the European Parliament

*Nationality:* Belgian

*CV:* Former Belgian Prime Minister

*Nickname: *“Baby Thatcher”, for his free market views

*Key quote: *“Any #Brexit deal requires a strong & stable understanding of the complex issues involved. The clock is ticking - it's time to get real.”

*How important is he? *Despite probably making as many Brexit headlines as Tusk, Barnier and Juncker, Scarpetta places Verhofstadt at the bottom of the importance rankings.

“Even the definition of lead European Parliament negotiator is exaggerated, because the European Parliament is not directly involved in the negotiations to start with,” Scarpetta says.

However, the European Parliament will have a binding vote on the Article 50 deal. “Without the consent of the European Parliament, there is no Article 50 deal. But, in terms of the negotiating process, the role of the European Parliament is a minor one.”

*How to impress?* Verhofstadt appears most concerned with giving certainty to EU citizens residing in the UK. He said last week that the uncertainty was “destroying lives” and should be “point one” in the negotiations. He once raised the prospect of Britons who had voted to remain retaining their EU membership in some way, but gave no details on this intriguing proposition.

*Read more*: Goldman Sachs chief warns City may "stall" due to Brexit

*NAME: MICHEL BARNIER*

*Job:* Chief Brexit negotiator for the European Commission

*Nationality:* French

*CV:* Former French foreign minister

*Nickname:* “Le cretin des Alpes” - dubbed by the French elite, according to reports

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 08, 2017

Now in its third year, GroundLink’s popular Hamptons Private Driver has announced the addition of vans in New York to its product offering of luxury sedans and SUVs to and from the Hamptons. One-way, per person base rates start as low as $42 (based on thirteen passengers sharing a van). The global black car service, that combines customer service and technology, has also reduced pricing for pick-up and drop-off in New Jersey. One-way, per person base rates start as low as $61 per person (based on six passengers sharing a SUV).

Hamptons Private Driver provides a hassle-free alternative to coach, train or car rental, which in many cases offer comparable pricing. However, with Hamptons Private Driver riders can enjoy door-to-door service and leave the driving to a fully-insured, professional driver, and Hamptons vacationers can either work or relax en route and not have to endure the stress of driving in traffic. The service will be available now throughout the entire summer via the company’s award-winning mobile app, at http://www.groundlink.com/hamptons or by calling the company’s 24/7 reservations line at 1-855-231-9684.

“With our van service, getting to the Hamptons is even more affordable and more convenient,” said Liz Carisone, CEO of GroundLink. “Friends can join together, enjoy door-to-door service and leave the driving to us so they can have a stress-free summer getaway. We are also pleased to offer reduced pricing for residents of New Jersey, offering easy access from the Garden State to the Hamptons.”

Hamptons Private Driver Pricing for New York City

Hamptons Private Driver is competitively priced according to the vehicle category selected and the destination. Transport from Morris and Essex counties in New Jersey in a six-person, SUV-class vehicle is priced at $499 (each way) to/from Southampton and $535 (each way) to/from Montauk and East Hampton. Luxury sedan transportation to/from Southampton is priced at $329 (each way) and at $365 (each way) to/from Montauk and East Hampton. Taxes, tolls and gratuity are additional, but are shown in the final price prior to booking.

Unlike other car services, Hamptons Private Driver customers can enjoy flat-pricing and pricing will never increase during peak periods or in the event of traffic. By using GroundLink’s user-friendly mobile app, customers are able to easily select their pick up and drop off locations for Hamptons Private Driver using nearby airports, venues, addresses or their ride history. Customers can also track their car and driver from the time the driver is dispatched until they are dropped off at their destination, using the GroundLink mobile app or a link provided in SMS car location alerts sent to them.
