UK merchant service provider PaymentSense ranks 24th in the Media Momentum Awards league table of the 50 fastest growing digital companies in Europe.
London (PRWEB UK) 7 June 2013
PaymentSense has been named as one of Europe’s fastest growing digital companies at the tenth annual Media Momentum Awards, which recognise the leading start-ups in the digital economy. The UK card processing provider ranked 24th in this year’s league table of the top 50 rapidly growing digital businesses.
The 2013 invitation-only event took place in Stockholm, a leading hub in the internet sector and home to a large number of highly successful technology companies. The awards, hosted by GP Bullhound, have become the top league table for Europe’s most successful digital companies.
Businesses from all over Europe featured in the league table, with more than half of all this year’s entrants coming from the UK, true testament to the country’s entrepreneurial culture. PaymentSense ranked highly among the UK-based companies featured in this year’s awards and was one of a growing number of companies in the payment solutions sector.
In just four years, PaymentSense has become a leading player within the card payment industry, challenging the established banks by building up a customer base of over 30,000 SMEs and processing over £2 billion of card payments p.a.
The company’s year-on-year growth shows no sign of slowing. With European expansion and the launch of new payment products on the horizon, PaymentSense is expected to continue growing its share of the card payments market.
Commenting on PaymentSense’s success at this year’s Media Momentum Awards, George Karibian, one of the company’s founders, said:
“Technology has enabled us to disrupt the card processing industry. PaymentSense uses technology to provide UK SMEs with the highest levels of service at low, capped rates. This is a compelling proposition in an environment where our competitors, the high street banks, are continually raising prices and cutting service levels in the pursuit of short term profits.”
