SPAR Point Group announced today that Robert Shaw, Senior Geo-Surveyor, The Discovery Programme will deliver a presentation entitled “Ogham in 3D - Documenting the Ogham Alphabet Inscribed Stones of Ireland” at SPAR Europe 3D Measurement & Imaging Conference and European LiDAR Mapping Forum (ELMF) taking place 11-13 November 2013 at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
“In this session, Mr. Shaw will outline how laser scanning technology is being used to document the ancient Ogham Stones, one of Ireland’s most remarkable national treasures,” said Linda McLaughlin, Conference Manager. “The session will add the element of history and will demonstrate how laser scanning technology is being applied to conserve and improve understanding of these archaic treasures.” Mr Shaw’s bio and full abstract can be found here.
Mr. Shaw is one of more than 75 experts presenting at SPAR Europe/ELMF. The 2013 program contains extensive conference programming and networking opportunities, as well as ample exhibit hall hours during which attendees can peruse the newest hardware and software solutions.
