Janjaap Ruijssenaars of Universe Architecture to Present Keynote Address at SPAR Europe & European LiDAR Mapping Forum in November

Renowned Architect/Urban Planner/Designer to Speak on 3D Printing of Buildings

Portland, Maine (PRWEB) September 26, 2013

SPAR Point Group announced today that Janjaap Ruijssenaars, Architect, Universe Architecture will deliver a keynote address entitled “Landscape House: A Fundamental Question Leads to Innovation” at SPAR Europe 3D Measurement & Imaging Conference and European LiDAR Mapping Forum (ELMF) taking place 11-13 November 2013 at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

“The session will address the question: Can building be like landscape without beginning or end?” said Linda McLaughlin, Conference Manager. “Mr. Ruijssenaars delved into this fundamental question in designing the Landscape House, in which a new construction technique, 3D printing, proved to be the most elegant and appropriate.” She added that Mr. Ruijssenaars will share insights about 3D printing of buildings, for instance as compared to traditional construction techniques and space considerations for mechanical engineering and plumbing during construction.

Ir. Janjaap Ruijssenaars is architect, urban planner, designer, writer and teacher. With his invention of the Floating Bed he gained worldwide attention, including that of Oprah Winfrey. He founded Universe Architecture in January 2000 and has won numerous awards, including a Best Invention of 2006 nod by Time Magazine for the Floating Bed.
