Suwanee, Gwinnett Leaders Were Plentiful on Recent Chamber Trip to Europe Patch Suwanee, GA --

A delegation of Suwanee and Gwinnett business and government leaders targeted several European businesses in a December 2012 trip to Europe.

Suwanee Mayor Jimmy Burnette, Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson, and Gwinnett District 2 Commissioner Lynette Howard were among those who traveled to France and Germany for six days to strengthen business ties with companies there.

The delegation was led by Gwinnett Chamber VP Nick Masino, a former Suwanee mayor.

Masino explained recently that several companies from France and Germany already are doing business in Gwinnett. So the mission in part was to visit with officials from those companies on their home turf.

Also, the delegation paved the way for a later visit to Europe by State of Georgia business officials, Masino said.

Business recruitment and retention is a prime function of the Chamber and its Partnership Gwinnett unit. An example of business retention is Mitsubishi Electric, which is completing a massive new headquarters building near I-85 in Suwanee.
