CICA Honors 2014 Recipients of Prestigious Industry Awards

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (PRWEB) March 02, 2014

The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) will honor the 2014 recipients of the CICA Distinguished Service Award and the CICA Outstanding Captive Award at the Opening Session of the CICA 2014 International Conference on Monday, March 10, 2014 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Mike Lusk has been named the recipient of the CICA 2014 Distinguished Service Award -- the highest award possible in the captive insurance industry. This award recognizes individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to advancing the captive insurance industry.

Lusk is corporate vice president, Insurance and Risk Management, at the Archer Daniels Midland Company. Lusk joined ADM in 1999 after a 25-year tenure with International Risk Management, Inc., where he served as senior vice president. International Risk Management was the captive management firm founded by Fred Reiss, commonly known as the “Father of Captive Insurance”, so Mr. Lusk’s connections with the industry run deep. Lusk is certified as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and as an Associate in Risk Management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Tufts University in Medford, Mass. and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. He served as chairman of the board of directors for both the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) and the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA).

Snap-on SecureCorp Global Companies has been selected as the CICA 2014 Outstanding Captive Award winner. This award recognizes a successful captive insurance company that has shown creative uses for a captive, prevailed in difficult times, and has gained a positive reputation among rating agencies, regulators, and colleagues in the captive industry.

Snap-on Incorporated is a manufacturer and marketer of tools, equipment, diagnostics, repair information and systems solutions for professional users. Products and services are sold through its well-known franchisees and their mobile vans, along with company-direct and internet channels.

Snap-on SecureCorp has a mission of providing insurance and benefit products to Snap-on’s franchisees so that those franchisees can concentrate on their core business of selling tools and solutions. Snap-on SecureCorp companies provide insurance coverages and benefits throughout the world, including all 50 US states, Canada, Australia, UK, and Europe.

Founded in 1920, Snap-on is a $2.9 billion, S&P 500 company headquartered in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

2014 CICA International Conference Happening Soon: CICA’s 2014 International Conference on March 9-11, 2014 in Scottsdale, AZ features two full days of intensive education sessions and a comprehensive tradeshow where captive owners and risk managers can learn about and evaluate business solutions and ideas with service providers and domiciles.

CICA is the only domicile-neutral captive insurance association. Founded in 1972 by risk managers for their collective benefit, CICA works to provide the foremost education, networking and leadership for captive and risk retention group professionals. Through CICA's personal network focused on the common issues that concern captives and risk retention groups, members are constantly exploring new ways to broaden the use of their captives to increase flexibility in program design, stabilize long-term program costs and increase access to both domestic (U.S.) and offshore reinsurance capacity.
